About me

Jo Barcas Buchan is a teacher and craftsperson from Scotland. Jo began cross-stitching as a teenager and completed commercial kits. Whilst she loved the process, she was never happy with the finished result. A couple of years ago, a non-stitching friend said he just couldn’t understand why Jo followed a pattern rather than stitching what she wanted. Jo has never looked back!

About me

I am currently working on two community-based projects in addition to my studio practice. Tiny Pricks is a series of Trump tweets and comments stitched into memory textiles. The project has been opened to the public and will end when he is out of office. Interwoven Stories is a visual narrative project with chapters around the world and over 300 fabric pages completed.
